Mama Power.

I work part time during the week. I work at my family’s business, so I am able to bring the kids with me and kind of have my own set hours. I can come and go as I need to and I really appreciate that. I am able to make it to all the school events and the kids sporting events. Sam has always helped in the mornings with the kids and getting them ready for school and taking them to the bus. He is exceptionally great at doing this on the days I work. I help out some, but I am mostly focused on getting myself ready and out the door with whatever kiddo I am taking with me. No, he doesn’t have to do this for me. I am fully capable of doing it myself. However, I feel like he enjoys doing it because some times this is the only time he gets to see the kiddos. (Especially when harvest hits) There are days where I will get them up and ready to go if Sam has to get started early or something else comes up and he can’t. The other day was one of those days. He wasn’t going to be able to get them to the bus, because he had to take the tractor a hour away to get worked on. Then he was going to go straight to my dad and brother’s farm to help work cattle. Again, no big deal that I had to get the kids ready and to the bus. I seriously do not mind I just need to know the day before, so I can get myself organized and get up early. Well Sam didn’t have to leave until 6 to take the tractor, so he was asleep when my alarm went off at 5 a.m. He later couldn’t sleep so he woke up and came into the bathroom as I was showering and getting ready. He goes why are you up so early? I said, well I wanted to get myself completely ready before I had to get the kids up. That way I can just leave after I take them to the bus. He felt so bad. I don’t know how many times I told him it wasn’t a big deal. It doesn’t bother me at all. I just need to be done with myself before getting the kids up or I won’t be ready to walk out the door when I need to. Sam later left and I finished getting myself ready, and began to get the kiddos up. We made it to the bus on time and I was to work before 8. It’s those days where I feel like I can accomplish anything that comes my way. Except I am sure I will be ready for bed by 8 tonight!
